Technical Pulleys
Transmitting motion is the characteristic function of a pulley, a component which can support a number of different applications and can be made of different materials, depending on the context. AGLA produces complex automotive pulleys, such as the Water Pump Pulley to move a water pump where, starting from a disc with a thickness of a few mm, it is able to achieve high thickness geometries. The difficulty with the Air Conditioning Compressor Pulley, however, is always to create significant thicknesses starting from a thin disc, but in this case it is necessary to do it on metal walls with different sections. By coupling a bearing to the air conditioning compressor pulley, AGLA can provide an assembled product. The most difficult challenge, however, is the production of Aluminium Pulleys, since aluminium is a material that has a 20% yield point elongation, compared to 40% for steel. Aluminium pulleys are highly sought after on high-performance cars, where reducing the weight, and therefore the CO2, is a crucial factor. Overall, AGLA produces over 2 million pulleys a year.
